Sri Chathurveda Vidhya Ganapathi Vedashram was established in 2012 with the Divine Grace of Sri Maha Periyava and the blessings of the parents of the founder Sri R.Kamakoti. Veda rakshanam and Gohsamrakshanam are the prime objectives of this vedashram. Sri. R.Kamakoti has formed a Charitable Trust "SCVG Trust ®" to run the operations of Veda Patashala and Gohshala.

The Vedashram is located in Krishna Garden Layout, Athur Village near Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu.



To serve Vedas in a meaningful way....


1. To make SCVG Vedashram a Premier Vedic Institution for teaching all four Vedas.

2. To offer holistic education to all our Vidhyarthis. ( Vedas, Sanskrit, Yoga and academic education in parallel )

3.To inculcate Sanatana Dharmic Practices in non-vedic kids and adults thereby paving way for their purposeful living.

4. To house and breed Desi Cows in our Gohshala

Veda rakshanam:

Vedas are taught in a typical Gurukul System

Vidhyarthis hail from six States and are pursuing Vedic studies in Shukla and Sri Krishna Yajur Vedas.

Our Veda Patashala is unique in offering courses in Jata and Gana patams in Shukla Yajur Veda - Kanva Shaka.

From the academic year 2016-17, we have started imparting Sri Krishna Yajur Veda also.

Student Profile:

Our Vedic Students hail from 9 States of India viz Maharashtra, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Orissa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu

These Vidhyarthis pursue their adhyayanam soon after upanayanam. Vedic studies being a residential course, vidhyarthis are being offered shelter, food, clothing and study materials FREE of charge during the entire tenure of education by the Trust.

Goh Samrakshanam:

  • 45 cows and calves (30 Cows, 13 Calves and 2 Bulls) are housed in our Gohshala.
  • Of them 33 are Desi Cows
  • The Desi Cow varieties include Tharparker, Kankrej, Gir, Rathi, Ongole, Sindhi , Sahiwal
  • A Veterinary Doctor is engaged for preventive and periodic medical attention to all our cows.
  • Periodic vaccines are administered to all calves

Teachers' Profile:

Our Chief Adhyapaks (Vedic Teachers) Shri Kumara Guru Ganapatigal is a highly acclaimed Vedic Scholar.

Sri S Harihara Ganapatigal and Sri Manoj Ganapatigal are assisting Shri Kumaraguru Ganapatigal in imparting Vedic studies to all our junior vidhyarthis. They both completed their Ganantham from Athur veda patashala itself in 2015.

Shri Senthilnatha Ganapatigal of Sri Ramana kendhram, Thiruvannamalai has assumed overall charge of running Sri Krishna Yajur Veda at our Vedhashram.

Sri Manjunath Bhat, (from Ramana Kendram, Thiuvannamalai) is our Adhyapak for Sri Krishna Yajur Veda


Ashram has a temple with "Sri Sruthi Kamakshi Ambal" as the prime deity with sannadhis for Sri Chandramoulieeswara Swami, Sri Chathurveda Vidhya Ganapathi Swami, Sri Bala Subramania Swami, Sri Kanchi Maha Swami and parivara dhevathas.

Nithya aaradhanas are being performed by our Vidhyarthis under the guidance of our Adhyapaks.

Special Poojas are conducted on the following days :

  • Pradhosha Pooja : Abishegam, Sri Rudra Parayanam at Pradosha kalam (5.30pm)
  • Anusha Pooja : Abishegam, Avahanthi Homam, Parayanam (8.30am)
  • Sankatahara chathurthi : Abishegam, Ganapathi Homam, Aaradhana (6.30pm)
